New day dawning: Prepare for the spring

Re-post from 2011.

11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day. (NKJ Genesis 1 v 11)

Sunday 4 September: No matter how severely or how often a tree is pruned and cut back it will grow again – nothing will stop it.  A second word from the Lord spoke to the preparation for spring that is done in the autumn.  We weed, cut back, clean out and shape. With a vision of how we want our garden to grow and bloom in the spring, we bury our seeds and bulbs, prune, tie back and protect the vulnerable plant. All of this in EXPECTATION of the coming spring.

So it is with our lives and fellowships – God has a perpetual eternal plan; HE created seeds that are perpetual in design.  We WILL reap from the seeds of the last season BUT whilst reaping the harvest, recast vision, wait on the Lord expecting the vision of your new garden and then prune, re-organise, dig up, fertilise and plant as He shows.

The season ahead is about resurrection life – it’s about proclamation, preparing the way for our Saviour. Get rid of the debris. Submit to pruning.

With expectation watch and wait on the Lord – this new season does not delay. It is the dawning of the third day.
